Unveiling hidden talents, weaving futures of independence.
At Chhupe Rustam, our mission is to uncover the hidden talents of rural women and give them the recognition they deserve. Many of these women, despite their incredible skills in knitting, sewing, and crochet, remain unseen due to societal limitations, lack of confidence, and limited access to markets.
Our vision is to transform these skills into sustainable livelihoods. We provide raw materials, training, design guidance, and market access so that every woman can achieve financial independence, self-confidence, and dignity. We dream of a future where traditional crafts are celebrated, passed on to future generations, and valued globally as symbols of empowerment and resilience.
Chhupe Rustam began with the Rashi Foundation’s community work in villages, where we witnessed firsthand the struggles and aspirations of rural women who wanted to contribute financially but had no opportunities.
Our women empowerment initiative, The She Network, became the bridge to support these women. Through workshops and village interactions, we realized their need for flexible, home-based work that could align with their family responsibilities.
From this realization, Chhupe Rustam was born — a social business providing training, raw materials, and a platform to sell exquisite handmade products. Every rupee earned directly supports the artisans, fueling their independence.
We aspire to build a nationally recognized brand that not only celebrates Indian handmade craftsmanship but also empowers thousands of women across rural India with financial stability, dignity, and a voice in their communities.
Women trained and supported to turn their craft into sustainable livelihoods.
Handmade items carrying the stories of dignity, resilience, and artistry.
Workshops on skill-building, financial literacy, and legal awareness.
Entire families and villages uplifted through women’s financial independence.
Rashi Sachan envisioned Chhupe Rustam as more than just a brand — as a bridge between hidden rural talent and a world eager for authentic craftsmanship. Her journey began with grassroots work through the Rashi Foundation and its women empowerment wing, The She Network.
Witnessing firsthand the struggles of rural women to find dignified, income-generating opportunities while balancing family duties, Rashi set out to create a platform where their talents in knitting, crochet, and sewing could be celebrated, not hidden.
Her mission is simple yet powerful: to turn skills into livelihoods, hobbies into income, and hidden champions into visible changemakers.”
